# Equipping Avatars & Wearables in Studio

Use the **Open Avatar Studio** to switch between MML-compatible 3D avatars you own, equip wearables, and save your loadout — all linked to your **Open Avatar** token.

When you hit **Save**, the Studio captures a profile photo and updates the MML URL on your Open Avatar. Your saved loadout is what you'll carry into compatible worlds like Otherside and across the platform.

***

## Prerequisites

Before you can access the Studio, you need to have your **Open Avatar (OP Avatar)** page set up. The **STUDIO** button only appears on your OP Avatar page once setup is complete.

<Note>If you don't see the STUDIO button, make sure you've completed your OP Avatar page setup first. Visit **Avatars** from your Home page and follow the prompts to get started.</Note>

***

## How to Enter the Studio

1. Go to [openpage.fun/home](https://openpage.fun/home)
2. Click **Avatars**
3. Select your **OP Avatar**
4. Click the **STUDIO** button

You'll enter a 3D environment where your current avatar loadout is displayed. From here, you can switch avatars, equip wearables, and save changes.

## Switching Avatars

While in the Studio, you can switch to any MML-compatible 3D avatar in your wallet.

1. Click the **avatar icon** in the Studio toolbar
2. The **Select Avatar** modal will open, showing all eligible avatars you own
3. Use the search bar to filter by name if needed
4. Click on an avatar to select it — the active avatar will have an **orange border**
5. Your 3D view will update to show the newly selected avatar

<Note>Only MML-compatible 3D avatars will appear in the Select Avatar modal. 2D or non-compatible assets won't be listed.</Note>

## Equipping Wearables

Wearable slots are listed on the left side of the Studio. The available slots are:

* **Skin** — full-body skin overlays
* **Headwear** — hats, helmets, halos
* **Head** — faceplate and helmet
* **Neck** — chains, scarves
* **Top** — shirts, hoodie, longsleeve
* **Back** — backpacks, wings
* **Side** — holsters, swords
* **Bottom** — cargo pants, shorts
* **Footwear** — lowtops, hightops

To equip a wearable:

1. Click on a **wearable slot** to expand it
2. Browse the available items — these are wearables you own that are compatible with your currently selected avatar
3. Click an item to equip it
4. Click it again to unequip

> ⚠️ Wearables are filtered by compatibility with your selected avatar. If you switch avatars, the available wearables may change. Not all wearables work with every avatar model.

## Saving Your Loadout

When you're happy with your avatar and wearables, you have three options in the toolbar:

* **Save** — captures a profile photo and overwrites the MML URL on your Open Avatar token with your current loadout. This is your identity across the platform and in compatible worlds like Otherside.
* **Download** — exports your current profile photo without saving to the token.
* **X (close)** — exits the Studio. After saving, you'll see your updated avatar loadout in the viewer.

<Note>Saving updates your on-chain Open Avatar. The next time you enter a compatible world like Otherside, you'll appear with the loadout you saved here.</Note>
