# Creating (UGC) Content in Studio

The Open Avatar Studio isn't just for equipping avatars and wearables — it's also a content creation tool. Use the built-in animations and camera to record videos and capture photos of your 3D avatar, perfect for sharing on social media or with your community.

## The Studio Toolbar

At the bottom of the Studio, you'll find four icons:

* **Eye** — toggles the wearable panel and other UI elements on or off, giving you a clean view for content capture
* **Emote** — opens the animations panel where you can trigger emotes and dances
* **Music** — controls background music
* **Camera** — opens the recording toolbar for capturing photos and video

## Playing Animations

Click the **Emote** icon to open the animations panel. You can browse animations by category using the tabs at the top:

* **All** — shows every available animation
* **Emotes** — reactions and expressions like Bow, Clap, and Wave
* **Dance** — full dance animations like BBoy

Click any animation to play it on your avatar in real time. The animation will loop or play through depending on the type. Select **Idle** to return your avatar to its default standing pose.

<Note>Animations play immediately when selected. You can switch between them freely to preview before and during recording.</Note>

## Recording Video

Click the **Camera** icon to open the recording toolbar. Before you hit record, choose your format:

* **Square** — ideal for Instagram posts and profile content
* **Portrait** — vertical format for Stories, Reels, and TikTok
* **Landscape** — widescreen format for YouTube and Twitter/X

To record:

1. Select your preferred format from the recording toolbar
2. Set up your shot — use **click and drag** to rotate the camera around your avatar, and **scroll** to zoom in or out
3. Open the **Emote** panel and choose an animation
4. Click the **Record** button (white circle) to start recording
5. Click it again to stop

Your recording will be saved and available for download.

<Note>For the cleanest footage, click the **Eye** icon first to hide the wearable slots and UI before recording.</Note>

## Capturing Photos

You can also use the Studio to capture still photos of your avatar. Position your camera angle, trigger an emote, and toggle the camera icon to take a snapshot as your profile picture or to share.

## Tips for Great Content

* **Rotate your camera** before recording to find the best angle — try a low angle for dramatic shots or a close-up for detail on wearables
* **Zoom in** on specific wearables or accessories to showcase them
* **Combine emotes with camera movement** — start an animation, then slowly rotate for a dynamic clip
* **Use the clean view** (Eye icon) to remove all UI overlays before capturing
* **Try different formats** for different platforms — square for feeds, portrait for stories, landscape for banners
